Making Remote Vision Therapy Valuable

Access to the original 4-part lecture series, provided in partnership with “IHeartVT.org,” Behavioral Optometry’s premiere international sharing and educational initiative, during the first month of the COVID-19 pandemic (April, 2020).

  • Each seminar is approximately 1 hour, and can be enjoyed as a stand-alone presentation or as an integrated part of a holistic approach to vision support (at any distance!).
  • Course #1 provides an introduction on how to adapt patient care for a remote setting, and identifies unexpected opportunities for patients to elevate their role in self-care.
  • Course #2 explores the impact of being in sympathetic overdrive (stress reaction of the nervous system) on the body and on the visual process. This section is particularly helpful for self-care.
  • Course #3 guides professionals to adjust their mindset on how to assess the patient remotely, rather than trying to reproduce examination techniques as performed in an in-person exam.
  • Course #4 brings the foundation provided in course #2 into practice, with specific recommendations to help patients enhance the quality of their visual perception.
  • Courses #1 & 3 contains technical components which are geared primarily towards optometrists and vision therapists.
  • All four courses include content which is widely applicable to any individual involved in health care, rehabilitation, therapeutic and healing arts.
  • For optometrists, some spreadsheets have been created,
for measuring Visual Acuity over a video interface,
as well as converting between horizontal/vertical prism combinations and composite prism values in Base-360
    (available at http://drslotnickblog.com/downloads).
  • The Slotnick Swirl® is AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD.

A portion of all proceeds will be donated towards COVID-19 relief.

It is still dark outside, my house is quiet and I am enjoying listening to the recorded sessions of your Making Remote VT Valuable. I attended the first and 3rd sessions live.  This is actually my second listening session from 1 to 4.

You have inspired me, and I want to thank you for that.  I needed it this past month.

Thank-you so much for all of your amazing information and courses over the last few weeks. I am excited to be starting at a VT practice soon and bringing all the tools with me I have learned in the past to better our patient experiences and learning. You have helped an incredible amount.

Thank you for your wonderful presentations these past few weeks. I really enjoy your teaching style!
I’m a VTOD from Waterloo, Ontario.  I do hope the pandemic simmers down so that you can still present in Ontario in June, as I am now a fan and hope to attend! If not, perhaps that seminar could go virtual too?
